Fonecare Club Rules and Terms

Fonecare will always exercise our discretion in a fair and just way when considering the merits of any claim made in connection with extended warranty, loss, damage, theft and/or replacement

Fonecare is not under any circumstances contractually, legally or otherwise obliged to fulfil any claim.

Fonecare does not provide any insurance products.

Fonecare is not an insurance company and is not subject to the same financial regulation requirements as an Insurance company.

Fonecare will exercise our discretion when considering requests for replacement phones and will charge an administration fee for replacement requests that result in Fonecare providing a replacement phone.

Fonecare is subject to the laws, rules and regulations in Guernsey and is not a regulated entity in Guernsey.

Fonecare is a club of affiliated members by subscription based in the Channel Islands

The common purpose we all share is the continued and hopefully uninterrupted use of our mobile phones

No new members will be accepted into the club at this time .

Membership fees are paid monthly in arrears

Membership is determined by Mobile phone number not equipment

An administration fee will be charged for each loan phone issued or repair made

While best endeavours will be used to provide as close a unit as possible to your existing equipment , the club will simply provide a loan unit

No financial payment will ever be made in relation to anything other than one months subscription

Once a payment has been missed the membership subscription has cancelled and no call on Fonecare resources will be accepted going forward

All changes to club rules will be posted on the website

The club will only maintain records of mobile telephone numbers not personal information or equipment details

Loan units will be issued whenever requested by a member , they may be subject to an additional cost if the members original equipment is never returned to service or taken back into the loan phone pool of equipment

It is the members responsibility to cancel the subscription if membership is no longer required

The club recommends its members take their own insurance against their equipment Fonecare gives you uninterrupted use not insurance

Data Protection January 2017

As per our club rules amended January 2013 the Club shall no longer hold nor maintain membership Data

Recent changes being introduced to protect peoples personal information require a different approach to the way people store and use personal information .

As you will be aware from January 2013 we no longer maintained our databases as for us there was no real justification to hold that data. All members were mailed and emailed of this change at the time

From this point onwards we will actually dispose of our historic data

How does this impact your membership .

As for some time your continued membership is based on you having subscribed within the previous 60 days and proving the same should you need to use the club , there is no immediate impact .

You will no longer receive any mailings or email contact as of course the club will not hold that data , the website is now the primary source of membership information

When using the exchange or repair services it is imperative that you correctly and clearly complete your equipment forms , this will be our only means of identifying your equipment and returning it to you if not going in to the loan pool .

Walk in repairs and exchanges will only be accepted at our designated repair centres as listed below , there is no longer a facility for this at our administration office in Guernsey

Stores are currently located at St Austell , Falmouth , and Penzance

Full addresses and contact numbers are listed on the main website

The members will provide the stores with proof of membership by means of a subscription payment within 60 days of that date .

Club members will now be responsible for the safe return and carriage of loaned equipment to the repair centre after their equipment has been returned

To ensure the most continuous use of the equipment administering the equipment side of the service will be conducted directly with the Fonemechanix store , however the club will ultimately arrange and administer the processes required

To maintain the speed at which your equipment is exchanged all actions will be processed by the club after the event and members will as stated be responsible for the equipment received until its return to the loan phone pool of phones

The common purpose we all share is the continued and hopefully uninterrupted use of our mobile phones and devices, to the best reasonable endeavour’s of the club

The method by which loan phones and repairs are instigated will from this point be predominantly handled for the members by direct contact with Fonemechanix stores

Stores are currently located at St Austell , Truro, Falmouth , Truro and Penzance

Returned loan phones in the supplied packaging must not be returned in the original FREEPOST packaging you will be supplied with a return package if required

The Administration office at 3 Collage Street St Peter Port Guernsey will no longer be in operation for walk in or telephone enquiries and should be addressed to kailey@fonecare.gg
